Benjamin Dunk's Obituary
Benjamin Dunk passed away on November 17, 2020 in his daughter’s home in Sandy, Utah.
At 91 years old, Ben admitted he was lucky enough to have experienced many amazing things and to have lived a very full life.
Born in a small farming village in rural England, Ben spent his early years on a great farm estate called West Dean where he spent his time roaming the grounds, talking to the animals and hanging out with the farm staff.
He lived through World War II in the English countryside, joined the Royal Airforce and worked in communications, using morse code to translate official government messages.
An electrician, hoover salesman, wool shop owner and newspaper journalist in England, Ben finally immigrated to California, U.S.A. in 1978 where he and his second wife established a successful antique sales and restoration business. He spent 30 years as the local expert and conservator of antiques.
Ben had a passion for UFO’s, the written word, marzipan and milk chocolate, classic British cuisine and Jaguar automobiles. A poet and a writer at heart, many remember him for his interesting stories and talkative tendencies.
He loved his breakfast until the end - two soft boiled eggs on toast, British tea with milk, toast and jam, and fresh fruit.
Ben is survived by 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
