Benjamin Lani Hoopiiaina's Obituary
Our brother, father, and Uncle Benjamin Lani Hoopiiaina, age 70, passed away peacefully February 12, 2019 at his home surrounded by loved ones.
He was born October 31, 1948 in Salt Lake City to Benjamin Kalani Hoopiiaina and Bernese Burgener.
He served in the United States Navy as a damage control man third class. He was a professional long line truck driver for forty years. He drove over a million plus miles across the United States where he met and had many friends along his travels. Retiring from Knight Transportation in 2018. He spent many years in Washington State and residing in West Valley City for the past ten years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his loved ones.
He is survived by the love of his life Robin Hoopiiaina, sons Benjamin Robert (Niki), Chad A, grandchildren Austin and Scarlett of Everett, Washington. Sisters Barbara (Richard) Stevens, Kathy (Ed) Bruner, nieces (his daughters) Melisa, Nancy, grandchildren (kids) Michael, Lexi, and Ally Holt, Lani & Jared Morgan, nephew Bryan (Jodi), grandchildren Victoria, Damien, Adrian and Ryder Bruner all of Salt Lake City. Friend (brother) Gary Metzker and family of Richland, Washington.
Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gary, Reid and Robert, sister Frona Lue, grandpa, brother in law Wallace Charles Holt and friend Wayne.
Per his wishes there will be no funeral services.
Rest in peace, remember we love you dearly and families will be together forever.
