My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
I send my condolences to your family. My father, Dennis Crossley, served with Bernie in the mission, and growing up, I remember many times visiting Bernie when we went to visit our grandparents. He painted two beautiful paintings of Bear Lake for our family and was always kind and warmhearted.
Tribute to Bernie from Marj, in a letter to her children from Battle Creek, Michigan, where she was serving her mission: "...That skinny little brother I used to tend and grew to love. We owe him a mighty favor. He helped us when we needed him-spent couple years or more of his life-etc. at mill."
Bernie was like a big brother in our family. He worked with David and Barry, played with the youngest, Susan and Randy, showed Myrna and me how to identify and press flowers, had us all collect insects, taught us a bit of German and a little Chinese. Extremely observant from the time he was small and with an amazing memory, Bernie had a wealth of knowledge of family history, which he shared and for which I am grateful. To Louise and the family, may the Lord bless you with comfort and patience until you are reunited. Love, M'Jean
I remember cleaning the church with him and how he made the children feel needed.
So sorry for your loss. I hope you will treasure the many wonderful memories you have with Bernie for the rest of your lives. Prayed blessings to your family!
