It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather & best friend to many, who departed this life on March 25, 2012 at 3 am. He was born on December 4, 1933, in Spring Canyon, Utah, the eighth of nine children of Charles Robert Ostler, Jr. and Isella Iona Cowley. He faithfully served a full-time LDS mission in Brazil. Upon his return, he served his country as an enlisted Soldier in the US Army & learned the electrician’s trade. On September 11, 1964, he married his sweetheart, Mary Jo Benincosa, for time & all eternity in the LDS Salt Lake City temple. He studied &graduated from BYU with a BA in Portuguese. His gift of languages & grammar earned him a job first with the defense contractor McDonnell Douglas (Boeing), where he worked for over 37years. He & his wife settled in St.Charles, Missouri. He served faith fullyin several church callings. He was a devoted husband & father who forwent many of the earthly honors that come with career, status & ambition & always put his family & their needs above his own. He promised his sweetheart upon their marriage, that they would one day return to their native Utah upon retirement from his chosen profession—a promise he kept. He loved fishing, gardening, bird watching& pursued a lifelong love of learning.
