Beryl Turner Morley's Obituary
Beryl Turner Morley
1936 - 2018
Grandma Beryl was surrounded by her loving family when she peacefully slipped away from this earth on January 26, 2018. Born on October 20, 1936 to Lois and Dewey Turner in Murray, Utah Beryl was a proud Smelterite and kept in touch with her classmates’ form Murray High class of ’54.
She married Robert McKay Morley on June 30, 1954. They had three lovely children, just ask her! The family spent their most memorable days camping in Ephraim canyon and boating at Pineview Reservoir with their family and friends, especially the Johnsons.
Her most important roles in life were Mom, Grandma Beryl, and Grandma Great. Beryl cherished family and supported her children in all their personal pursuits. She was inseparable from her siblings, spending much of her time catching up weekly at the local Dees. A tradition inherited from Uncle Lynn’s law enforcement days.
To know Beryl was to love her. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion and each moment was captured with a card or letter signed xoxo. Beryl was the queen of the April Fool’s Joke! Beryl loved to surprise so many of us with goodies, groceries or an impromptu party.
Beryl was a collector. A collector of mystery novels (Ann Rule was a favorite), fabrics which she used to make incredible prom dress and other clothing for friends and family. She had a unique collection of tea pots; but most of all Beryl collected friends!
Beryl had a successful career at Delta which allowed her to travel the world she visited China, Singapore, throughout Europe, and Hawaii. Some of her fondest memories were visiting her son, Steve, in Singapore.
Beryl was an active member of the LDS church and cherished the blessing of her temple endowment. She had many callings and friends from the Butler 10th and Ridgeland Wards. Thank you to her Northridge Ward which was particularly welcoming and accommodating for her at the end of her journey.
A special thanks to the team at Inspiration Hospice. Your care and compassion helped Beryl and her family through a particularly challenging time.
Throughout her time on earth she loved life and fought a strong and courageous battle. Beryl was concerned for her family’s happiness to the end. Thanks for all of you taught us Mom! In the style many of us were recipients of, Roses are red, violets are blue, of all the moms out there we would pick you!
She is survived by her children Kay Hansen, Steve (Dottie) Morley, and Cindy (Rick) Hatton, her grandchildren Michelle (Doug) Peterson, Steven Cort Hansen, RJ Hatton, Jessica Hansen, Malia (Bradley) Mackay, Nathan Morley, Luke Morley and her precious great grandchildren Ozzy and Iris Peterson, her sisters Della (Stan) Harris and Norma Dee (Arnold) Schmidt, brother in law Larry Christensen as well as many nieces and nephews who all loved Aunt Beryl. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lynn and sister Jackie.
