Edna Elizabeth “Betty” Chambers
Betty Chambers passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at the home of her daughter, Maria Ruf, in Springville, UT. She was 80 years old. Born in San Diego, CA in 1940, to Robert and Wamoth Anderson, Betty lived an interesting and varied life. She was a fervent arts enthusiast, performing in international dance competitions in her youth, and later owning a dance studio and art gallery, where she imparted her love for dance and fine art to her many students and the public. She loved literature and was an avid reader as well as a prolific author and publisher. A loving and caring individual by nature and training, with a BS and MS in Social Work, her life was filled with service to others. She never met a person or animal in need without trying to help. She was foster mother to over 40 children. Betty was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by one sibling, Karen Coulson of Marco Island, FL, six children, Barbara Stein, of Cameron, TX, Michael Chambers, of Stafford, KS, Terry Chambers, of Lafayette, LA, Maria Ruf, of Springville, UT, Eric Chambers, of Milano, TX, and Shandrea Cornett, of Tuttle, OK. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
