Betty Lou Gerber's Obituary
Betty Lou Daybell Gerber, 91, passed away on July 15th 2015 in Tooele, Utah from natural causes. She was born in Magna, Utah on July 12th 1924 to Ernest and Ednal Daybell. She graduated from Cyprus High School in 1944. As a teenager Betty worked at Camp Kearns, an Army/Air force training base during WWII. She enjoyed the work she did there, and spoke of it fondly throughout her life. Betty married Lynn Vyron Gerber onNovember 17th 1945. They started a life together in Kearns, Utah where she lived and served for much of her life. She served faithfully in numerous church positions including Primary, Sunday school, Young Women's, and Relief Society. She then found her true calling in the Gospel Doctrine class, which she taught for more than 30 years. Betty was very adamant in all she did, from her crafts to teaching the gospel.She was well respected, and was very much loved by her children and grandchildren. Betty and Lynn raised four daughters together. She has been joyously reunited with her husband Lynn, who passed away February 6th 1978.
Betty is survived by her youngest daughter Cynthia Gerber, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and very dear friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Lynn Gerber, her daughters Kathleen Lynn Bertot, Janese Ann Norton, Lynette Harris, sister Reve’ Collins, brothers Clyde Daybell, and Garvin Daybell. We would like to thank her friends and caregivers at Rocky Mountain Care in Tooele, who provided the tender loving care she received.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, July 20th 2015 at the LDS Kearns Utah Stake Center at 4260 W 5215 S. Kearns, UT with a viewing prior to services from 9:45 am to 10:45 am. There will be a viewing Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the same location, the LDS Kearns Utah Stake Center at 4260 W 5215 S Kearns, UT. The funeral will be followed by graveside services at Valley View Memorial Park.
