I met her at my very first Winter Homeschool Conference and she came to many of my events after. I went down to her cute shop in Bountiful and bought a suburban full of beautiful plants! She gifted me a ton of tomatoes if I agreed to find homes for them. She was always very thoughtful and considerate to me and many others. I am sad to hear she is gone so soon. She will be missed by many.
How sad I am to see that Beuna has passed across the veil. Her light and example impacted my life in positive ways for decades, beginning with homeschooling our children together, then years later having booths next to each other as she sold her book co-authored with Kathy Wilson. I was so impressed that she opened Basil & Rose, and taught plant identification classes. Beuna was a delight. I treasure my memories of her. Rest in peace, dear friend!
Beuna taught me so much. I loved going on her herb walks. Such wonderful days spent in nature with her and learning from her. She was so kind and caring. Her light will be deeply missed.
I met Beuna originally at a prepper party where we found we had much in common, then I attended singles dances she organized. We continued to cross paths at preparedness activities and she invited me to participate in a singles preparedness seminar she arranged. I will never forget how excited she was to finally get a brick and mortar shop. It was beautiful and her knowledge in all these areas was phenomenal. She was my go-to for my meager gardening attempts, helping me to know how to create the best garden boxes with her winning combination of products. It was fun to shop there because it was so inviting and the classes were always helpful. My thumb is as black as hers was green, but she helped me figure it out. Whenever I went in, we spent at least an hour in great conversation about politics, the big C, faith in God, natural healing, living single, children, and other growing things. Her consignment program helped my daughter in her jewelry business.
I know she will be missed by many and she left a beautiful mark on this world. I'm glad I got to know her and also to meet Salome. I appreciate how you helped your mom, especially during this difficult last journey. When I saw her briefly just 5 days before her passing, I felt her calm and accepting spirit that acknowledged God's hand in her life and death. She received the miracle of being released from this life, ready to meet a loving Father in Heaven.I certainly didn't realize that was the last, (and most brief) talk we ever had, since the hospital had her on a schedule. I regret we didn't get to share more but I'm happy knowing she is where she is supposed to be. My loving condolences to her children. - Debbie Miller
I met Beuna while looking for supplies to setup a community garden last couple years. She was such a great resource on the Utah Gardners page as well as at Basil and Rose. I was really looking forward to working with her again this year to setup another garden and grow citrus indoors, so I'm heartbroken that I can't have her as part of my journey again.
I am so sad we lost this great woman. She texted me to to say come and see her if I could, but am in New Mexico. I was going to go visit her as soon as I got back. She was strong, independent and brave. I am so sorry for your loss her sweet children.
I met Beunah through her classes and her shop in Bountiful. She was always so kind and willing to help with all of our questions. I will miss her and always remember her kindness 💗
Beuna was my miracle. We wrote a book together in three weeks. She was a walking encyclopedia when it came to plants and master at marketing. We spent hours together working at booths selling our books. I wish her family the best. Beuna is an amazing lady.
When I lived in Utah I posted to one of the local homeschool message boards that I was starting a local group in our area. Beuna, Lucian, and Salome where some of the first members of our group that grew to over 60 families.
Beuna was a big help and great resource. She helped make the group a success.
