Billie Ann Cowles' Obituary
Sadly, our dear mother, Billie Ann Cowles, passed away on March 11, 2024 in Logan Utah. She was 91. Billie was born on May 23, 1932 to William and Rachel Gordon. She was one of six children. Billie is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Howard, Carl and Bob and sisters Bea and Kelly.
Billie married Harry Cowles on July 4, 1950. They had three children. Harry passed away on June 1, 2007. They had a happy life together for more than 50 years. Billie was most proud of her children, Rod, Randy, and Charla. She loved them fiercely along with her 11 grandchildren (Randee, Rhiannon, Shannon, Andrea, Sarena, Gordon, Raechell, Brian, Eric, Kyle and Tyler) and 15 great grandchildren.
Billie loved gardening, painting, gnomes and crafting. She would send her grandchildren the lovely crafts she made for their birthdays. You could often find her watching Hallmark movies or Fox News.
She also loved to plan parties and bake cookies. She would plan a party for every holiday and invite friends and neighbors over, make food and give out little party gifts. She loved to give her cookies to the gardeners, mailman, her home healthcare aids, and anyone who came to visit her. She loved living in the Country Oaks condos in Layton where she had many friends. They watched out for her and checked on her often.
We are going to miss her phone calls. She was so good at calling her family (even multiple times per day) keeping in touch, offering love & support and being a part of their lives, even if they lived miles apart.
She loved her Savior Jesus Christ and we are comforted by the knowledge that she is in a better place. Her love will always be with us and she will remain in our hearts forever, until we meet again. We love you Mom and Grandma.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband Harry at Fort Rosecrans National Military Cemetery in San Diego California.
