Billie Nelson Miller Bowen 9/12/1941 - 06/4/2016
Billie peacefully passed away June 4, 2016. The youngest of four daughters, she was born September 12, 1941 in Roosevelt, Utah to Verland Silas (Bill) Nelson and LaVerda Timothy.
Billie was a loving “mother” to many of us - two sons, nephews, nieces, coworkers, neighborhood kids and even complete strangers. Billie shared a warm contagious smile and had the unique ability to make everyone instantly feel loved and accepted.
Billie was passionate about playing cards, bowling, cowboy boots, dancing, crossword puzzles, family reunions, Roy Rogers, potato chips, drives in the canyons, fishing, shooting guns, jigsaw puzzles, her three sisters, condiments, her 100 year old home decorated with precious antiques, teasing people, garage sales, watching her boys play sports and every child she ever met.
Billie is survived by her two sons Richard (Cheryl) Miller of Lakebay WA, Derek (Myra) Miller of Mapleton UT; Grandchildren Bret Miller, Aaron (Melissa) Miller, Jeff (Raegan) Miller, Elyssa (Abram) Himmer, Silas Miller, Avery Miller; Great grandson Jaxon Miller; Sisters Glenda Hall and Barbara Ritschard. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, Bruce Bowen, and sister Lillian Peacock.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the LDS chapel located at 235 E. 600 S. in Vernal, Utah. Family and friends are welcome to gather at noon for condolences. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with burial immediately following in the Vernal Memorial Cemetery.
To quote her favorite cowboy - Happy trails to you, until we meet again...
