Billy Ray Goings' Obituary
Billy Ray Goings
1939 - 2018
Our dear kind loving father passed February 22, 2018. He was born in Grover Hill, Ohio, to Dale and Josephine. His father passed when he was four years old. He moved a lot growing up and attended many schools. Eventually, his family resided in Payson, Utah. After high school, he joined the US Navy. While stationed in Sasebo, Japan, he met the love of his life, Yasuyo. They married in Japan and had their son Jeffrey. Our mother could not speak English when she came to the US. She said she came to the US because she loved our dad and wanted her son to be with both of his parents. After moving to the Utah, they had daughters Joyce, Joanne, Jeanette, Jeannie and son Jonathan. They lived in various cities in Utah and eventually resided in Kaysville. They loved Kaysville and it was a great place to raise their family. Dad did his very best to provide for his family. He was so generous and did anything and everything for us. He was so selfless, loving, kind, and caring. He was an amazing artist. He could draw or paint anything. He had a few art shows and all of his artwork was displayed. He made us so proud. Several of his paintings are displayed on the walls in their home. Dad was an avid collector. He loved to collect all kinds of toys, books, movies, music, just to name a few. Whatever his kids liked, he collected it for us. Some his favorite things to do with us was picnics in the mountains, boating, and fishing to name a few. He loved to fish. One time we all went fishing for a day and we caught over 100 fish. We laughed all day and had so much fun. All of our fond special memories will always hold a place in our hearts forever. As his grandchildren and great grandchildren came, he loved them all and knew everything about each one. His grandchildren are Rebecca, Tyrel, Ethan, Preston, Nolan, Mia, Janae, Nicholas, Cameron, Graysun, and Jaelynn. His great grandchildren are Bodee, Cort, Tyler, and Blakelynn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Yasuyo. Sons Jeffrey and Jonathan (Jennifer), daughters, Joyce Sanders (Chase), Joanne Dixon, Jeanette Hanney (Michael), and Jeannie Goings (Mathias), eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also, family in Japan and his very close friend who was like his son, David Turner.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Caregiver Support Network for their kindness and loving care they provided to our father. We are so grateful to you all.
Our father is now reunited with his family and we know he will watch over us. Dad we are so blessed to have you as our father. We thank you and appreciate everything you did for us all. We could not ask for anyone better because you are the best. Until we meet again, we love you more more more….
