Blaine Vernal Hendrickson's Obituary
Blaine Vernal Hendrickson, 84, of Murray, Utah died on June 7, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Blaine was born February 24, 1939 in Salt Lake City and lived his childhood years on his beloved Hubbard Avenue. He was married to the love of his life, Shanna, for 46 years and they had two children, Greg and Jill.
Blaine graduated from East High School and had a long career working for Sandy City. He spent his life in the outdoors; camping, fishing, or skiing, but loved them most when he could share those things with the people he loved. He kept a meticulous yard, thanks to his green thumb, and loved meeting his friends for daily 11am coffee. The last years of life were filled with happiness through his granddaughters, Kate and Leah.
Blaine is survived by his wife, Shanna; children, Greg Hendrickson and Jill (Justin) Macfarlane; his granddaughters, Kate and Leah Macfarlane; his sister Cheryl (Reed) Fisher; as well as many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernal and Valene Hendrickson.
Funeral arrangements will be held Monday June 12, 2023.
Visitation with the family will be held at the LDS church at 755 East Three Fountains Drive from 10:30am-11:30am followed by a graveside service at Murray Cemetery at 12:00pm. A luncheon will follow at the Three Fountains clubhouse.
We would like to send thanks to the nurses and hospice team at Intermountain Medical Center for making his last days peaceful. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Sharing Place in his honor www.thesharingplace.org
