1932 – 2017
Sandy, UT – Blaine Petersen, 84, our beloved Dad, Grandpa and Brother passed away on February 26, 2017 with his family by his side. Blaine was born on November 28, 1932 to Preston Petersen and Christina Olsen Petersen in Provo, Utah. He was the youngest of 7 children. Blaine married Velma Jolley in 1952 and they had 3 children together; they later divorced. Blaine was an aircraft mechanic for the United States Air Force for 4 years. He was an accomplished businessman, and owned a successful auto parts store for many years. Blaine enjoyed golfing, sight-seeing and nice cars. He had a passion for geology and history. Blaine will be remembered for his remarkable sense of humor and sarcastic comebacks. Blaine is survived by his daughters Sandra Madsen and Connie Wenerstrom (Alan); 6 granddaughters, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; and brothers Leroy Petersen and Glen Petersen. Blaine was preceded in death by his son Boyd J Petersen and his son-in-law Gordon Madsen.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the St. George City Cemetery, 650 East Tabernacle Street, St. George, UT.
