Blanche "Fae" Creamer Laurie's Obituary
Fae Creamer Laurie, 75, of Riverton, Utah, passed away peacefully at home on April 16, 2026, surrounded by her family—the place she loved most.
Born in Washington, D.C., to Captain Donald Stanley Creamer, USMC (Ret), and Blanche Mae Allen, Fae was raised in Arlington, Virginia, where she built the strong foundation of faith, family, and kindness that would guide her throughout her life. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Georgetown before her journey led her to Utah where she met her first husband, Mark Jackson McLean, and they welcomed three children between 1974 and 1980.
In time, Fae’s journey carried her to Arizona, where she found a joyful new chapter with George David Laurie. The two were married on June 17, 1989, blending their families and embarking on a lively adventure of raising five teenagers together (something she handled with patience, humor, and plenty of love).
Fae had a gift for making a house feel like home. Whether camping with family, gathering everyone around the table, or later caring for her grandchildren, she found her greatest joy in simply being together. When the grandkids arrived, she happily stepped away from work to help raise them—something they will forever cherish.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fae served as Relief Society President in several wards. She led with quiet strength, deep compassion, and a sincere love for others. She had a remarkable way of lifting people—leaving everyone she met feeling seen, valued, and just a little bit better than before.
Fae will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, steady faith, and, above all, her deep love for her family. Being a mom and grandma wasn’t just something she did—it was who she was.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, George David Laurie; her children Janet McLean (Kade and Wyatt), Marci McLean Walker (Greg; Riley [Jadyn and Nova], and Jackson), and Kevin Mark McLean; her stepdaughters Jennifer Laurie and Michelle Laurie (Lili, Mark, Harley); and her siblings Vivian (Dan) Boyle, Francis Daniel Creamer, and Christopher “Anita” Hawkins, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Captain Donald Stanley Creamer, USMC (Ret), and Blanche Mae Allen; sister Kathleen Creamer Weiss (Frank); and her brother, Donald Parnell Creamer (survived by Helen Creamer Bradford).
