Bobby Eugene Cardenas' Obituary
Bobby Eugene Cardenas
June 1, 1986 – August 20, 2025
Bobby Cardenas, a father, son, brother, and friend whose goofy nature and infectious smile brightened the lives of all who knew him, passed away unexpectedly on August 20, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 39.
Born in 1986, Bobby grew up in Sandy, Utah, attending Jordan High School. A true artist at heart, his greatest passion was playing the guitar and creating music. Whether jamming with friends or writing a new tune, he found his voice and deepest joy through his music. He also had a profound love for reading, finding great solace and knowledge in the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and all religious and spiritual books he could get his hands on.
Bobby lived his life as a true adventurer, defined by a spirit that loved traveling and doing crazy things—always seeking the next memorable experience, big or small. More than his passions, he will be remembered for his profoundly kind and generous nature. Bobby was open-minded, never judgmental, and was the person who would help anyone he could, often putting others' needs before his own. His legacy will be as the person who was truly goofy and could always make people smile.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Cardenas; and his grandmother, Seferina Lucero.
Bobby is survived by his newly born grandkids, Esella and Ezekiel; his children, Xzavier and Mariana; his mother, Rebecca Lucero; his brother, Aaron Cardenas: and his half-brother and half-sister, Jesse Cardenas and Shawna Bacon; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 2:00 PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
Bobby’s family asks that all who attend come ready to share a favorite goofy memory of him, ensuring his celebration of life is filled with the laughter he so freely gave. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he served through his kindness and music.
