Bonita Diane Rosander's Obituary
Bonita Diane Rosander (née Johnson), 75, passed away on July 24, 2026 from complications due to kidney disease. Diane had been feeling increasingly ill for about 5 years, and discovered she was in kidney failure in August of 2025. Diane’s family is so grateful to the doctors and nurses who oversaw her care. Diane was born February 18, 1951 in Seattle, WA. She graduated from Chief Sealth High School in Seattle, WA in 1969. She was married to Bill Gough for 17 years, with whom she had 3 children. She moved with her children to Utah and eventually met and married the love of her life, Paul Morris Rosander, whom she laid to rest in 2014. Diane moved in with her daughter’s family soon after and resided there until her passing.
Diane loved and cherished her many relationships. She maintained a loving, caring, and service-oriented connection with her siblings, many cousins, aunts and uncles, lifelong friends, old co-workers, and of course, her posterity. She loved the church and famously said that the only thing she will ever be a member of is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, passing on the opportunity to save money as a member of the Smith’s Fresh Values Club. She served in every calling on the ward and stake level, except Scout Master. Diane loved to create! She painted, crafted, invented games for her children and grandchildren, and loved to cook meals. Cooking for her family was among her most favorite. When she finally admitted it was too tiring for her, that’s when her family knew for certain something serious was going on with her health that was more than just “getting older”. Diane worked professionally in sales, printing, and marketing until she was in her late 60s.
Diane is a 5th generation Latter-Day-Saint and is survived by her children; Steven Gough, Anna (Robert) Woodruff, Laura (George) Gallagher, and her cherished grandchildren, William, Elle, Leigha, James, Samantha, Jane, Lukas, and Kevin. With two stepsons and their families, Brian and Preston Rosander. Her living siblings include Wally, Lynn, Carolyn, Paul, Julie, Celia, Ken, Dave, and Nolan. She was preceded in death by her sister Marilyn, to whom she was very close.
Funeral services will be held at the River 1st Ward, 1239 Country Creek Drive on August 1, 2026 at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held in the same building beginning at 9:00 am until 10:30 am. Private interment.
