Branden Todd Malkogiannis' Obituary
Branden Todd Malkogiannis is now cheering us all on from Heaven. He is our loving grandson, son, brother, nephew, friend, and father figure. He shared himself with all of us. He didn’t need to know you, but he cares for you. If he knows you, he loves you! Branden started life off as a curious young boy who knew he could forge his future with unconditional love from the family around him. He was taken on great adventures with his Grandma and Pa Pou. He is his brother's keeper and continues to show him that life is better than what they had seen in the past, and encourages him to find joy and security. Although, during his life, he experienced traumatic events and created drama, such as NOT turning himself in for his prison sentence. Branden found recovery and his meaning and purpose. After his release from prison, he had a relapse and fought for his place in the RISE Federal Drug Court. He was outspoken, advocating for all and himself, and completed that program with no issues. ZERO issues (other than him being Mr. Sassy Pants)!!! He had the ability and drive to have a life in recovery. He was given the opportunity to be trained as a Certified Peer Support Specialist, and an MRT (Morale Reconation Therapy) Facilitator, and attended steering committees for the State of Utah Department of Health to end the stigma of mental health and substance use diagnosis, as well as volunteered with the loving nonprofit B.A.M, Beyond Addiction Mosaic. Branden wanted others to experience the empowerment of recovery! His biggest character flaws were his best characteristics, helping others, mentoring, and loving all of us. He helped all of us who are technically challenged, struggling with mental health or substance use, need a ride to a meeting or inpatient treatment, feeding the homeless, or need help with a community project, he is your man!
Branden is a man of the community, please keep paying it forward. Help a person with a ride, take someone to a meeting, spend time at an assisted living center or with someone who feels alone, listen unconditionally, and ALWAYS end every conversation with I LOVE YOU!
