Brenton Matthew Morris' Obituary
Brenton Matthew Morris passed away peacefully on September 13, 2016 at IHC hospital in Murray Utah after succumbing to his failing heart. He had just celebrated his 50th birthday. He will be remembered for his generous heart and kindess to others. He left us much too soon.
Brent loved baseball and was able to tell you baseball stats on almost any player. His other love was watching the Utah Jazz play basketball. He especially loved helping people and never asked for anything in return.
He was born on an Air Force Base in Ohio and soon moved to El Centro California where he grew up. He graduated from Central Union High School and then attended college in Arizona. He served an LDS mission to the Halifax Nova Scotia Mission where he loved the people and learned to survive cold winters. After graduating from college with his bachelor’s degree in social work, he moved to Salt Lake City, UT to be near his siblings. He worked a variety of jobs and always gave away all that he had to help others in need. He worked for many years at Muir Industries and was grateful for the staff he worked with there.
Brent worked hard at whatever he chose to do and sincerely cared about those around him.
As he became very ill this summer, he never asked for any help. His family and neighbors had to constantly reach out and just jump in and help. He was very grateful for the continued support of his family, neighbors, his Bishop and other concerned church members, the Intermountain and LDS Hospital staff and the hospice nurses who were concerned about his well being and comfort. We, as his family, are very appreciative of all those who assisted Brent in so many different ways. Thank you.
Brent left behind his parents (Wayne and Lea Morris, Salt Lake City UT) and 7 siblings along with nieces and nephews –Melody Stauffer (Russ, McKell, Emily and Jon) - Sandy UT, Wendy Morris (Jordan and Garrett) - Thatcher AZ, Marlay Rich (Ron and Kira) – Jonesboro AR, Riley Morris (Karen) – West Jordan UT, Lanell Clark (Dave) -Mesa AZ, Angela Seabury-Salt Lake City UT and Ryan Seabury – Denver CO to join his mom who preceded him in death 16 years ago (Karen V. Morris).
Brent leaves a huge hole in our hearts and will be missed greatly. Services in his honor will be held on Friday, October 7 from 6:30 – 7:30pm at the LDS chapel (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) on 8600 South and 1235 East in Sandy UT. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Intermountain Healthcare charities on his behalf.
