So sad to hear about this. I've known Brett since jr high. We have stayed in contact all along. I feel like we just talked and now I see this obituary. Brett is such a kind person. He would give the clothes off his back to help another person. He was smart and witty. Funny and outgoing. Always doing some project . He loves his boys so much . I'm so sad to learn of his passing. He was ALWAYS so incredibly kind to me. Brett, fly high friend. Thanks for being a great friend . I pray you are at peace and abundantly happy and free. Your memory will never fade.

I´m just in shock that Brett is gone. I knew him (and Julie) years ago in elementary and high school, and I still remember what a kind, funny, and good-hearted person he was even then. He’s a good man. I´m so, so sorry for your loss and am keeping his family in my thoughts.

I was in high school when we visited Utah one summer. It was... not such a fun trip for me, but then we were able to visit the Lytles! Brett couldn't help but make me laugh. I remember him singing and being silly to The Turtles' "Happy Together." A year or two later, he helped me "borrow" Sesame Street. ;)
