Brian Kim Cook

Brian Kim Cook, 78, passed away peacefully Feb 3, 2025, surrounded by his family. He blessed his parents, Ted and Juanita Cook, with their first boy on September 25, 1946. Brian had many jobs. He worked at several Government installations retiring from Hill Air Force Base in 2006. But his favorite job was bartending at the Brunswick Bar in Clearfield. He was in the National Guard from 1965 through 1969 where he was trained in communications. As a kid, he learned what hard work was while working with his dad and granddad finishing cement. Brian met his constant companion, April Willden, "on the BLVD" in 1963. He married her on May 24, 1969. They were together for 59 years. From this union they had 2 sons, Chris (Rebecca) Cook, Honeyville, UT, Nate Cook, West Haven UT, and a third "from another mother" Troy (Julie) Hughes, West Haven, UT. In the winter months, Brian and April enjoyed bowling and WENDOVER. Where he met many friends. In Wendover, he was known as the "candy man" passing out Wethers and Jolly Ranchers to everyone. Summer months were spent in the Unita mountains, camping at Mill Creek for weeks at a time. The campfire was always a place to set around and reminisce. He loved to fish on the creek, hunt for deer and elk, having "bagged" quite a few. His favorite activity was teaching the kids to fish and hunt. He loved kids and was always entertaining them. He taught them all to hunt for worms. He was an expert at scaring the kids with Wendigo and snipe hunts. Scaring many of them out of their shoes. Anytime he could get the kids to do a chore, it was usually something he was supposed to do. He was good at tricking the kids, but they loved it. He also enjoyed playing and coaching softball. Brian is survived by his wife of 55 years, his sons, grandchildren; Savana, Sarah, Henry, and Russell Cook; Joe, Jacy Storey, and Jenna Cook; Taylor (Ashley), Corbin (Karlee), and Kelsie Hughes. He also is survived by 9 great-grandchildren. and the ones he loved to torment, his brother Tim (Sue) Cook, sisters Karen Kirkman and Shelly Hamblin. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Gaye Mitchell; Claire Walker; Jeanette Smith; and brother Corey Cook. A celebration of life will be held at Warehouse 22; 1068 W. 350 S Ste A, Syracuse, UT on February 10, 2025 from 5 pm to 8 pm. As Brian always said "CSMO".
