Brian Jay Gibson's Obituary
Brian Jay Gibson, 63, son, brother uncle and friend, passed from this life July 4, 2011.
Brian was born in Whittier California on October 17, 1947 to Jay W. Gibson and Alice Roberta Johnston. He attended Sunshine School and Riverside City College in California before enrolling and graduating in accounting at Brigham Young University in 1973. He was employed as a computer technician by BYU and Dynix Corporation for several years.
Brian loved the outdoors, fishing and going on walks. He was a “people” person and made friends wherever he went. He was a patriot and loved our nation. Because he had cerebral palsy, his life was filled with trials and challenges. The word “can’t” was not acceptable to Brian. With the help of good friends and family, Brian accomplished the impossible. He said, “I have no complaints, I’ve had a good life.” As a family, we would like to express sincere appreciation to all those who have helped lift his burdens and shoulder his loads. Brian will be missed but has left his “handprint on our hearts” for which we are truly grateful.
He is survived by his parents, Jay W. (Jan) Gibson, Roberta (David) Galey, and his sisters,Deborah Pope, and Sandra (Nathan) Lewis.
The viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. and the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Franklin 1st Ward , 610 W. 300 S. Provo UT. Interment at Orem City Cemetery , 1520 N. 800 E. Orem , UT.
