Brigham M. Murdock's Obituary
Med was 99 and five months when he graduated earth life from his home in South Jordan on 11 June 2011, the day his family had scheduled a celebration of his 100th year. He was a grand Grandpa and great friend to his 12 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter Carolyn Curtis and spouse Gerald and his son Max and spouse Shirley. He is preceded in death by his wife Inez Sizemore, and two daughters, Barbara Jean and Sharon. He has one living sister, Helen Anderson, and was the second son of eight children born in Heber City to Alphonso (Fawny) Brigham Murdock Jr. and Lillian Evans. Med set a lasting example of honest labor through his work as farmer, lumberjack, mechanic, Red Cross driver and caretaker of an estate in Holladay. A 1946 pioneer in the Emigration Canyon community where he lived for 62 years, his reputation as a true neighbor and servant to others lives on. At 96 he could still help transfer Carolyn from wheelchair to bed, and his last hospital visit was marked by a remarkable rally to his old fun-loving self. He will be sorely missed and envied by those who mourn his passing to a better state of happiness. He was also preceded in death by brothers Max, Rex, and Son, and sisters Lorna, Althea, and Mary. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Country Crossing 8th Ward Chapel, 10860 South 3200 West, So. Jordan, UT where a viewing will be held prior to services from 9:00am to 10:30 am. Interment 2:00pm Saturday at the Heber City Cemetery.
