Brooksie Lee Freemyers' Obituary
Brooksie Lee (Coombes) Freemyers, 65 of 9223 Mountain Iris Way, West Jordan, UT, passed away on 5-20-2011 at home amongst her loving family.
She was born in Joplin Missouri on 2-11-1946, the daughter of Betty and Charles Coombes. Brooksie graduated from Clayton Valley High School, Concord, CA in 1964. She was married to James Leland Hughes from Aug 3rd, 1968 to Feb of 1981. She was then married to the late Gerald Freemyers of Greenville,CA on Valentines day 1982. They lived together in Greenville,CA, Livermore,CA and Tracy,CA until his passing in 2003. She found great comfort in the loving companionship of Charles Hopkins of Livermore over the last eight years.
Brooksie was a strong and independent woman, a fiery “red head” with a zest for life and a strong devotion to her family. She worked in restaurant management, as a bartender, and as a real estate agent. She most enjoyed being a wife, mother and grand mother spending quality time with her family. Her extensive collection of pigs was a mainstay in her home and continued to grow as friends and family acquired new and unique swine figurines as gifts for her passion. A child at heart she loved her many visits to Disneyland where she was enchanted by the magic kingdom and the smiles of the children.
Brooksie is survived by two children, James Hughes of Modesto, CA; and Brooklyn Bos and her spouse Anthony of West Jordan UT; and by two step children, Stan Freemyers and spouse Sharyn of Chesapeake VA, and Geneva Sietzinger and her spouse Tim of Melborne, FL. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild and by two siblings, Charlene Barney and Stan Coombes of Tracy, CA.
