Bruce Milo Toone's Obituary
Bruce Milo Toone passed away in his sleep on July 23, 2018 at age of 67. He died of
lung (COPD) and congestive heart disease.
Bruce was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on
April 27, 1951 to Clyde Smith Toone and Ora Rishton. He was the 7th child and was
born the first of twins. His father died when he was 6 years of age. The family moved
to Arizona in 1959. His mother married his stepfather when he was age 10. He lived a
few years in Woodruff, Arizona and graduated from Holbrook High School in 1969. After
graduating he moved a number of times and spent many years in Atlanta where he
cooked for the Salvation Army. Later returning to Salt Lake City, he earned a degree
from Salt Lake Technical College in Auto Mechanics.
Bruce worked at Village Inn as a waiter for 22 years until he had to go on disability
because of his lung disease.
Bruce never married, but Judy was the love of his life. He was very distraught when
she died of Lou Gehrig Disease. Later he lived with his twin brother Bryan (JoLynne).
He resided the last two years of his life at Millcreek Nursing Facility where the staff took
great care of him and developed an appreciation of his playful personality.
He is survived by siblings Sharon (LaRee), Deon Carpenter (Doug), Myrna Johnson
(Les), Clyde Wendell, and Diana Toone-Pisar (Ray). He was preceded in death by his
parents and brothers Gerald (Pat) and Bryan (JoLynne).
A short memorial service will be held for family and friends at Jordan Park, 1060 S. 900
W., SLC, Utah in the East Pavilion on Saturday, July 28, at 10:30 AM.
