Bryant Louis Griffiths' Obituary
Bryant Louis Griffiths came into this world on May 7, 1975 and grew up in West Valley City, Utah. He went to Granger High School and loved playing football there with his number being 25. He graduated in 1993 with some of his best friends. Bryant loved doing anything outdoors like hanging out at Causey Reservoir, camping at Soap Stone, golfing anywhere he could, listening to music, being around friends, going to the movies, BBQing and cooking, being the bartender, and sports especially playing softball the last couple years. But most of all, spending time with his son.
There was always 1 thing that could make Bryant happy or put a smile on his face, his son Lyncoln. After he came into this world in February 2007, Bryant’s life changed. He enjoyed spending any free time with his son. They could be playing video games, watching sports in person or on tv, golfing, shooting or simply hanging out and Bryant was content.
Bryant was a fighter throughout his life. He won 2 battles of thyroid cancer and finished the hardest battle with brain cancer on May 15, 2026. Although his body was tired his zest for life was still there. He fought till his very last breath.
The last couple months Bryant enjoyed going to dinner, walking the grocery store, drinking coke, eating old trapper jerky, and he had to have a bag of candy close by. He loved getting visits from friends and having a sense of normalcy. He also had his first pedicure and enjoyed the pampering he got that day.
Bryant was also a man that wanted life his way – maybe even said to be stubborn. You either loved him or hated him, but you never forgot him! His circle, his people, was small the last year of his life but if you were in that circle, you were family. There was a close group that we all joked about being the chosen family: Rex and Candy McArthur, Jamie Herrmann, Tiffanie Kirberg, Angie Foster, Laura McNabb, Sam Smith, Courtney Mitchell, and Mike Anderson. This family was with Bryant till the end! Us girls also joked when we were asked how we were related to him, we were going to start saying we are the sister wives. Bryant had several friends that were in his life, too many to list, and he appreciated everyone. He truly enjoyed the ones that cared enough to check on him throughout the last year of his life.
Bryant loved construction, especially flooring. He was very knowledgeable about the different kinds of flooring, installing, and designing the perfect space. Anything he could do with his hands, he would jump right in. He was a manly man.
We can only imagine the reunion he had with his mother Tora and grandma when he reached the pearly gates. He missed them immensely. He is survived by his son Lyncoln, his chosen family, many friends, his siblings Tiffany, Shaun, Christy, and Casey, his dad Louis and stepdad Scott.
Special thank you to Jamie Herrmann for being Bryant’s rock the last year. She would drop everything after getting a phone call from Bryant for his last-minute lunch and dinner requests, shopping trips, or to simply hang out. We often said she should be a nurse at how well she took care of Bryant till the end.
Thank you to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. Each and every nurse and doctor treated Bryant with respect, gave him dignity, and honored his wishes.
Bryant was a donor. From day 1 he said he wanted to be a donor. We went through all the processes and tests so we could honor his last wish. Although he was not able to donate his major organs, he was able to donate his eyes, skin, and tissue. Although he is gone, he is helping others.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 30, 2026 at The Cove at Herriman Springs from 1:00pm-3:00pm for families and friends. Food will be served. 6895 Rose Canyon Road, Herriman, Utah 84096 at the large pavilion. The celebration will continue for adults only at Redemption Bar and Grill from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Bryant wants to buy everyone a shot. 3517 W Maradona Drive, Herriman, UT 84065. In Bryant’s favorite words “QUIT MESSING WITH ME” and wear your favorite NFL, MLB, or University team jerseys or colors – even better if it’s the Raiders.
Rest in heavenly peace…you made every minute count! Give them hell Griffy!
