Budge Lyle Christensen, born June 27, 1953, in Brigham City, Utah, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Budge was a man of few words, but the words he chose carried weight—steady, thoughtful, and often exactly what someone needed.
Budge spent his working life as a truck driver, making the daily run out to the desert and back. The long stretch of open road suited him: quiet, dependable, and honest work that reflected the kind of man he was.
Outside of work, Budge found his greatest joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting, but fishing was where he felt most at peace—a place where time slowed down and the world felt simple. He carried that same patience and care into the kitchen. Budge was a talented cook and baker, known for meals made with love and skill. His pork loin on the grill was unforgettable, and for a time he even baked cakes for Bad Ass Coffee Company, sharing his creativity and flavor with the community.
He is survived by his partner, Kathleen Christensen, who shared his days and his heart. He leaves behind his children Jaime Bates (Dan) and Danielle Scott (Mike), along with his bonus children Shawn Rupp (Toni) and Lisa Powell (Stuart). Budge was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and two great‑grandchildren, each of whom brought him joy and pride.
Budge will be remembered for his quiet wisdom, his love of the outdoors, his skill in the kitchen, and the way he showed his care through actions more than words. His presence was steady, his heart was loyal, and his memory will be held close by all who loved him.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 31st at 11:00 a.m. at Hyrum Cemetery.
