Carl Reed Rasmussen Jr's Obituary
Carl Reed Rasmussen Jr. passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, after a full life filled with love and adventure.
Born on June 2, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Carl Reed Rasmussen Sr. and Virginia June Bohner, Carl attended Granite High School in Salt Lake City and Southern Colorado State College.
He married Carol Mae Derbidge, and from this union came two children, Linda Lee (Joseph) Slovernick and Brian Lynn Rasmussen. Carl and Carol later divorced.
He enlisted in the Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the First Infantry from 1966 to 1969. During his tour, Carl wrote lovely letters about missing his beautiful daughter and took enough photos during his time in Vietnam to fill two scrapbooks
On September 21, 1974 he married Sandra Van Ausdal Rasmussen, spending thirty-nine wonderful years together. She brought to their union, Eddie Wyler, Alan (Kerrie) Wyler, and Tammy Oram.
Carl is survived by two brothers, Bill (Dawn) Rasmussen and Tim (Carrie) Rasmussen, four children, thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Carl was greeted in death by his wife, Sandra, his parents, Reed and June, a son, Eddie Wyler, and his two best friends, Merton Moon and Manny Gambino.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Pleasant Green Cemetery 9200 West 3500 South in Magna, Utah on November 7, 2025 at 12:00 PM.
