Carletta Coleman Evans
1929 – 2020
Carletta died peacefully February 10, 2020 at Preston, Idaho. She was born September 3, 1929 in Pima, Arizona to Carl Percy Coleman and Belva “T” Buffington.
Carletta was raised in southern California. She had a beautiful soprano voice and sang with several big bands of the post WWII era. She lived in Phoenix, Az from 1956 to 2005 and then resided in southeastern Idaho until 2020. She is survived by four of her five children; Charlotte Rose (David) Anderson, David Alton O'Brien, Joseph Stephen (Marybeth) O'Brien, and Fletcher Andrew (Loretta) Keller. Her daughter, Cynthia Suzanne Jones preceded her in death. Carletta was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served for many years in the Primary and Young Women and always sang in her Ward choir.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the National Memorial Cemetery, Phoenix, Arizona, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband Irvin Evans. Those attending should arrive by 9:30 am.
