Carlos Augusto Bacalla, 102 years, passed away, Thursday, April 6, 2017 in Payson, Utah in his sleep.
Carlos was born on February 15, 1915 in Chachapoyas, Amazonas, Perú to Eulogio Bacalla Angulo and Maria del Carmen Albornoz. On April 28, 1952, he married the former Maria Belen Del Aguila in Lima, Peru. Carlos was a math and philosophy teacher in Rioja, Perú for 6 years and later worked at the National Bank of Perú for 35 years. He also enjoyed gardening and working with his hands. He loved his sweet wife, children and grandchildren and their extended families. He was a great father, grandfather, uncle and brother, loved by everyone who knew him. He and Belen came to live with his son Norman and his wife Ruth in Elk Ridge, Utah in 1997. He was loved by Norman and Ruth’s children and grandchildren.
Carlos is survived by his two sons, Norman Bacalla and his wife Ruth, and his son Carlos in Peru; 2 grandchildren, Mario Carlos and Norman Augusto. He was preceded in death by his dear wife Maria Belen, his daughter Belen del Carmen and granddaughter Jennifer Gatjens.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the LDS Chapel 259 E. Alpine Dr., Elk Ridge, Utah. The viewing will be from 9:45 am to 10:40 am. Interment in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
