Carol Ann Wootton Enright's Obituary
Carol Ann Wootton Enright peacefully passed away on January 5th, 2023. She was born to David & Carlene Wootton on January 27, 1948, in Midvale, UT, where she was raised. Carol was the oldest of five children. She is survived by her sister Linda Burrola and her brother Stephen (Karen). She was proceeded in death by both parents, brother David (Tink) and her sister Sharon. Carol has two living daughters and 6 grandchildren.
Carol was a beautiful, cheerful, fun-loving, passionate person with a great sense of humor (though sometimes it was hard to tell that she was pulling your leg). She was always kind and willing to lend an ear, easy to talk to and to just have great conversations about life. Carol enjoyed sharing her faith and telling others of her relationship with Jesus.
Over the years, Carol worked as a secretary, dock man driver, loan processor agent and a call center representative for an insurance company.
Carol had a great love for dogs to include owning Chihuahuas, Rottweilers, American Staffordshire Terriers but her heart dogs were Boston Terriers. She bred Boston Terriers for over 30 years. She was the breeder and owner of a Boston Terrier that was ranked #1 Boston Terrier in the country. Carol was a founding member of the Sierra Gold Boston Terrier Club, a founding member of the Great Basin Non-Sporting Club, a founding member of Bonneville Basin Kennel Association and she was a member of Golden Gate Boston Terrier Club, the Boston Terrier Club of Portland Oregon and the Mt Ogden Kennel Club. Her dogs were the lifeblood of her existence. They were her everything, but no more so than her relationship with JESUS.
Carol was full of life and had a bit of a wild side. She rode a motorcycle in a biker gang for a time and simply got along with everyone! No surprise that her favorite music was heavy metal and Christian rock.
Carol loved chocolate but really enjoyed fudge. Or did she like to receive the fudge to give it away? Carol said her favorite candy bar was Snickers because it was everything a candy bar should be AND covered in chocolate! Carol was a bit of a “Foodie”. She loved going out to eat with friends and she frequently ordered steak because it was one of her favorites. And desert, she would never turn down a slice of pumpkin pie or a bowl of watermelon.
Her daily exercise routine with her aids became a favorite activity and she very much enjoyed working on crafts, playing bingo, and especially, snuggling with the therapy dog where she was living.
It made her day when family or friends came to visit and spend time with her. She particularly enjoyed talking with and loving on her healthcare family, who took such great care of her. But Carol loved her soap opera, so you were not “visible or truly present” until after 3 pm when her soap opera was over. She frequently enjoyed the game shows too, especially the ones like “Family feud”, “Wheel of Fortune” or any scrabble like game show. And if you were in the room when they were on, you could see how vibrant her mind was and how much better she was at it then you were. Carol would have made a great game show contestant because she was extremely good at solving puzzles and remembering names of actors.
Carol enjoyed watching the rodeos, especially the Bronc riders. She knew each one by name and where they were from and what their current standing or status was in the Rodeo circuit. She did not like missing the Rodeos, and if she did, she would be a little agitated just as if you had missed your favorite sporting event.
Carol, you were a fabulous sister, a truly special friend, and a great sister in the Lord with such a vibrant spirit. You will be greatly missed.
“Carol, till we meet again.”
The Memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church, Saturday, January 28th, 7762 S 700 W (Main Street) Midvale, UT 84047 @ Noon.
