Carol Marcia Poulsen Jenson's Obituary
Carol was born on February 15, 1938 in Brigham City, Utah to Lawrence H. Poulsen and Marcia Ruth Della Peterson.
She called herself a “TOM BOY” in her younger years. She graduated from Box Elder High School in Brigham City. She
married Gerald E. Jenson four months after high school while he was serving in the army. In the next few years, she learned
and enjoyed cooking, skiing, golfing, fishing, backpacking (including a 50 miler), and bowling. She was good at all of these and
even won some tournament.
She loved being a mother to Ron, Jäna, and Brad.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held various callings: Relief Society
President in two different wards, Stake Relief Society counselor, Stake Primary President and served as a Temple Ordinance
worker for over 21 years. She served as the Young Women’s President and loved going to girl’s camp even when she was
released from the Young Women’s program. She served two full time missions with Gerald, the Olongapo Philippines Mission,
and the Palmyra Temple. They also served a 3 year service mission when Gerald was called to be the Branch President of the
Woods Cross 8th Branch.
She was a supportive wife in helping Gerald get through college and all his church callings.
She loved her brothers Jim and Leon, and her sisters Joyce and Beth. Carol was the baby of the family. She was the last
member of her family to pass. She loved and enjoyed being around all her family. She had 13 grandkids, 29 great grandkids
and 2 great-great grandkids. Doing things with her grandkids brought great joy to her life. Her favorite holidays were Easter,
Thanksgiving and Christmas. Spending time with family during those times were a big deal to her.
Her friends were important to her and she loved them dearly. Her temple sisters were special and taught her many things
during their lifetime friendship. She like to make frozen jam and bottling fruit from their garden. Many times, gifting it away to
others. She loved giving gifts, she spent many hours planning what she would give to those she loved.
Mom said, “Gerald is the light of my life and I love him so very much. We had 67 years together. We became one. What a
joyful and happy life I’ve had. The Gospel is true and I love my Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. They took good care
of me and my family.”
