Carol J. Miller's Obituary
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for her life, we announce the peaceful passing of Carol, who left this world on June 16, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on August 19, 1940, in Blackfoot, Idaho, Carol was a beacon of light and love, whose warmth and vivacity touched everyone she met. Her departure comes after a courageous and lengthy battle with dementia, during which she was surrounded by the love and support of her family and caregivers.
Carol was the beloved daughter of William Wayne and Bernice Johnson, both of whom predeceased her and who now welcome her into eternal rest. She is survived by her devoted children: sons Scott Ronald Poulson of Murray, Utah, and Robert John Poulson of West Valley, Utah, and her daughter, Julie Ann Hill of Twin Falls, Idaho. Her legacy continues through her cherished siblings: Gail Johnson Harrison of Colorado, Kim R. Johnson, and Kurt Johnson, both of Idaho, as well as her eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye.
Carol's early years were spent in the nurturing environment of Bountiful High School, followed by her studies at LDS Business College, where she laid the foundation for what would become a diverse and fulfilling career. She thrived in various fields, earning a business degree in finance and later obtaining her real estate license. As a real estate agent, Carol was known for her keen eye and dedication, qualities that served her well in her professional life.
Beyond her professional achievements, Carol was a woman of boundless energy and compassion. She was always on the go, ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Her love for laughter and her famous saying, "you might want to eat dessert first, you don't know if you will be around for it later," captured her zest for life and her belief in savoring every moment.
A woman of many talents, Carol had a passion for interior decorating, transforming spaces into warm and welcoming havens. Her love for children was evident in the countless memories she created with the little ones in her life. She was in her element when hosting family gatherings, with Christmas being her absolute favorite time of the year.
Carol was widowed in 2024, a loss that she bore with grace, drawing strength from her family and community. Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the caregivers who supported her during the last three years, as well as the hospital staff and medical helpers who provided exceptional care. A special thanks to Bristol Hospice for their kindness and support.
In celebration of Carol's life, a service will be held at a later date at the Bountiful City Cemetery in Bountiful, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a local charity, continuing Carol's legacy of giving and caring for others.
Carol's family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to all who have offered love and support during this time. She will be forever remembered as a vibrant soul whose love, laughter, and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
