Carol Ann Carter Parcell's Obituary
Carol Ann Carter Parcell, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 7, 2024, in Spanish Fork Utah. She was born March 9, 1929, in Heber Utah, the 1st of 2 children to Edward Doyle Carter and Phebe Myrtle Swain.
Carol was a loving wife to Van Davis Parcell. Together, they had 5 children, 1 boy and 4 girls. Carol attended school, through 6th grade in Daniel Utah, and Wasatch High School in Heber Utah. Carol was the most popular girl in town. She had a lot of boyfriends and girlfriends. She loved to dance and would dance several nights each week.
Carol was living with her Aunt Mary in Midway Utah when she met Van Davis Parcell on a blind date; he was on leave while serving in the Navy. After being discharged from the Navy they were married on September 28, 1946, in Evanston Wyoming. They lived in Heber Utah for a short while then moved to Pleasant Grove Utah to be closer to work. They then moved to Orem Utah where they lived the rest of their life. On May 2, 1980, Van and Carol were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple for Time and all Eternity.
Carol was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a faithful Visiting Teacher, Supervisor, and served many years as the Ward Librarian.
Carol loved her family and had many friends. She loved visiting with all; she was the life of the party. She loved to crochet and taught many how to crochet. She crocheted beautiful dollies, pillows, blankets, and Afghans. One would find her home decorated with many of these. She would always give many crocheted items to all as gifts.
Carol and Van loved going camping and fishing together. They would spend extended time at various locations enjoying this time together.
She is survived by 1 brother: Bert (Gloria) Carter Tooele Utah, and 1 Step brother: Ray Arnold (Kristine) Elder Riverton Utah, 2 half-brothers: Von Roy (Claudia) Carter West Valley Utah, Clair Glen (Kathie) Carter West Valley Utah, 4 children: Kenny (Joyce) Parcell Spanish Fork Utah, Cheryl Goodyear Provo Utah, Teena (David) Pratt Kingman Arizona, Cindy (James) Hawkins Orem Utah, and 1 son-in-law Don (Judy) Mangum Draper Utah; 20 Grandchildren, 46 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward Doyle Carter and Phebe Myrtle Swain, her husband: Van Davis Parcell, 1 half-brother: Delbert (Brigette) Brinkerhoff, 3 Stepbrothers: Dallas James (Renee) Elder, J Williams Elder, Kay Edward (Sheron) Elder, 1 daughter: Judy Ann Parcell Mangum, 1 Daughter-in-law: Carolyn Mitchell Parcell, 1 grandson: Tyler Van Mangum
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 14th at 11:00 am in the Windsor 4th Ward Chapel,
1875 North 280 West, Orem Utah.
A viewing will be held on Thursday March 14th at 9:30 – 10:30 am at the Windsor 4th Ward Chapel,
1875 North 280 West, Orem Utah.
Interment will be in the Orem Utah City Cemetery,
1520 North 800 East, Orem Utah.
