Carolyn Rose Chudley's Obituary
Carolyn Rose Chudley was born 7 August 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born to William Ernest “Ernie” Chudley and Goldie Calantha Below.
Mom passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, Sunday 19 June 2016. She had endured dialysis heroically for the last 7 1/2 years.
In her life, she lived in six states and in Canada, where her family roots are.
She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the tender age of 19 and was a valiant member in the Church serving in many callings. She honored her covenants and shared her testimony with her daughters, family and those with whom she came in contact with. "Endure to the end!" (Meaning in Christ) Which she did faithfully to the end!
One of mom’s favorite sayings was “Where there is no wind, row!” That if things aren’t going the way you want, make it happen.
Carolyn married Richard Stone and they had two daughters, Susan and Sandra. They later divorced.
Carolyn loved the theatrical life. She enjoyed being in plays, directing plays and writing plays. She was a great public speaker and never seemed to get nervous to do so. She even spoke in the Hollywood Bowl. She loved to read and shop. She considered going shopping as her exercise.
In 1978, she packed up her home in California and moved to Utah. At the age of 47 she decided that it was time for her to go back to school. She attended Brigham Young University for 6 years and came out at the top of her class becoming a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). She worked for LDS Family Services as a LCSW for 20 yrs. working with birth parents and adoption and with the AMAC (Adults Molested as Children) group. She published a book last June titled "How to Heal the Effects of Child Abuse". She worked endlessly in her desire to help others find their value and eternal worth! She is loved by many whose lives she touched!
She is survived by her Sister, Mrs. Earl Burhans (Peggy) of Kingman, Arizona. Mrs. Ronald Ward (Susan) of Sandy, Mrs. Richard Brinkworth (Sandra) of Eureka. She has 8 grandchildren; Mrs. Sean Vance (Brooke), Aaron and Brigitte Ward, Mrs. James Brinkerhoff (Suzanna), Stephen Brinkworth, Joshua Brinkworth, Nanthaniel Brinkworth, Adam Brinkworth, and Paige Brinkworth, and 6 great grandchildren; Shaun Ward, Ryan Bird, Joshlyn Bird, Zachary Ward and Elizabeth Brinkworth. She was preceded in death by her parents, a great granddaughter Lila Ward and a son-in- law.
