Carolyn Kersh Fullmer's Obituary
After a courageous 10-year battle with a rare form of cancer, our dear wife, mother and grandmother returned home to our Heavenly Father on July 8, 2011. Born November 5, 1940, in Caliente, Nevada to Joseph & Lorene Kersh. She married her sweetheart, Richard (Jim) Fullmer, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 22, 1960. Together for over 50 years, they raised 5 children: Greg (Dee Dee), Mindy Harbrecht (Chris), Scot (Jennifer), Angela Gowans, & Christian (Chaelyn). She enjoyed many hobbies including collecting & making dolls, ceramics, sewing, cooking, planting petunias, ballet and Sunday drives with Dad. She had a movie collection larger than Blockbuster and was notorious for cheating at all board games. Mom & Dad belonged to a unique group of friends known as "The Study Group," 7 couples who gathered together monthly to discuss the gospel, parenting and a whole lot of desserts. Carol had a faithful testimony and love of our Savior, Jesus Christ, that she often shared with her family. She willingly served in many callings in the LDS Church, including over 4 years as a matron in the Jordan River Temple, along with Dad. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Robert Kersh. She is survived by her dear husband, sister, Shirley Tofft (Bruce), 5 children, 6 granddaughters: Caitlan, Kendra, Marni, Kelli, Sadie & Audrey, 1 grandson, Vincent, and 1 great-grandson, Cole, and her beloved dog, Gini. Carol's family would like to sincerely thank Hospice for Utah for their remarkable care & support. Services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the LDS Union 3rd Ward chapel at 1535 E. Creek Road, Sandy, Utah. A viewing to be Tuesday, July 12, from 6-8pm at the church and 1 hour prior to the funeral services.
