Carrie Hale Steckelberg's Obituary
It is with great sorrow that our family announces the sudden passing of Carrie (Hale) Steckelberg, age 56, on Friday, June 19th, 2026.
Born on April 13th, 1970 in Ogden, Utah to Kent and Lois Hale, Carrie spent much of her youth enjoying the outdoors with her grandparents, parents and only sibling - her sister, Cindee. Trips to Yellowstone were a common and treasured occurrence, and became a beautiful tradition she later carried on with her own family.
Carrie's greatest joy in life was her family.
She was married for nearly 20 years to Brett Gwynn, the father of her four children. Together they raised a beautiful family.
Being a mother was the most important thing to her. She was an unwavering anchor who saw her children through life and hard times with fierce love and unmatched empathy.
In a 2011 she met the current love of her life, David Steckelberg, who she later married, and gained two step sons. Together they shared a marriage full of laughs, inside jokes, and shared adventures. Their connection was built on unconditional love that remained unwaivering regardless of circumstance.
Beyond her role as a mother and wife, Carrie found profound purpose in her career. For nearly 30 years she poured her heart into her job a local elementary school's special education classroom. She loved the children she worked with.
Carrie was a natural caregiver, down to her very core, spending her entire life in selfless service to those she loved. She was a compassionate heart that family members leaned on during times of need. Whether providing daily comfort, navigating difficult health journeys, or simply standing by their side to the very end of their lives, Carrie gave her energy and love without hesitation, asking nothing in return.
In 2025, Carrie finally became a grandmother, a role she waited for all her life. She embraced every single moment of it with pure delight and shared her love for her grandsons with anyone who would listen.
