Carroll L Morris' Obituary
Carroll Lenore (Williams) Morris was born December 29, 1934 to Lewis Thurland and Erna Lenora Williams in Salina, Utah. She was the oldest of nine children. Mom passed away on June 14, 2023 from natural causes. The family thanks mom’s friends and family who spent time with her during these final few weeks of her life. She enjoyed the visits. The family expresses thanks to IHC Hospice and her nurse, Jessica, for their kind and thoughtful care.
After graduating from North Sevier High School, she moved to Tacoma, Washington where she graduated from beauty school. While in Tacoma she met Gene Morris. They were married for time and eternity on June 3, 1955 in the Salt Lake City temple.
Mom was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many capacities over the years. She and dad ministered to up to 9 different families at one time, loving every minute of it. Those families became some of their best friends. They served an extended service mission at Provo’s LDS Employment Center and helped scores of people find work and assistance.
Mom’s handiwork of woven rugs, afghans, hot-pads, dish-rags, and blankets are scattered throughout our homes and throughout the country. If you knew her, even just a little bit, you likely have something she made.
Mom is survived by her son, Randy (Sherrie) Morris, daughters Brenda (Kenneth) Knight and Leslie (Russell) Gardner. Gene and Carroll’s progeny include 13 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by Gene and her daughter Cherlyn.
