I am so saddened to hear this. Skipper Voss was a great squadron Commanding Officer. An excellent leader who balanced mission accomplishment with taking care of his sailors and developing junior officers. We also had some great times along the way in port. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Fair Winds and Following Seas Skipper.
Cary was a great squadron mate, superb NFO, and outstanding Naval Officer. He was a superb mentor, a loyal friend, and we shared many memorable moments. I will miss him. May you always have fair winds and following seas. Rest in peace shipmate.
It was my pleasure to know and work with Cary during our time in VAW-112. As his Executive Officer, I looked up to him as a leader of men (this was before we had deployed women on ships). Cary was an inspiration and I am a better person for knowing him.
Fair winds and following seas my friend.
