Cathy Michele Machuca's Obituary
Cathy Michele Thornock Machuca
Born May 04, 1966 to Richard Blaine Thornock and Catherine (Cathy) Viola Nielsen Thornock in Ogden Utah and she left this world surrounded with love on January 19, 2023.
Michele's family moved to Warren Utah in 1971 where she grew up playing soccer, softball, and volleyball. She had a passion for horses and participated in Posse and Weber County Queen contests throughout her elementary and junior high school years at Plain City Elementary and Wahlquist Jr. High Schools. She continued playing AYSO soccer in Box Elder County while attending Box Elder High School.
Michele was very beautiful, inside and out; she was also super smart, excelling in Math and English. Her intelligence coupled with her bubbly and exuberant personality made for the best damn kind of crazy anybody knew! She was witty with her quick retorts and was always up for a dance party in even the most awkward circumstances. Because of this, she had a gift for making friends wherever she went.
Michele loved bowling and she was an amazing gardener! She was adamant about tending to her house full of plants with her green thumb allowing everything she touched to flourish.
In 2002 She met Jeff Machuca (Jose Jeffery Machuca) who she married in October of 2008 and lived in Vernal Utah.
Michele was preceded in death by both her parents, Blaine Thornock and Cathy Peterson, and two brothers, Rodney Blaine Thornock and Devin Lee Thornock.
Michele is survived by six children - JD (Laura) Thornock, TJ (Jen) Patrick, Trinity (Tom) Carter, Clayton Machuca, Kiersten Machuca, Vanessa (Brendon) Machuca, two sisters - Daylane (Cliff) Modahl and Norleen Thornock, her nieces and nephews, step-parents - Linda Thornock and Jerry Peterson, and her 6 dogs and 3 cats (and any other animal that walked onto the porch). All of whom she loved dearly, with all of her heart.
Michele was the best and happiest grandma to her 14 grandchildren who all gathered at her feet whenever she was around. There are also two grandbabies on the way; “little bean” (Vanessa & Brendon) and “gummy bear” (Kiersten))
Michele was kind, caring, compassionate, ornery, stubborn, sassy, and one of the most generous souls you would ever come across. Michele had a heart as big as Texas.
Michele's passing has left a massive hole in our hearts that cannot be filled in this lifetime; we love you and will miss you every single day!
Until we meet again…
Funeral Services will be held at Premier Funeral Services: 5335 South 1950 West Roy, Utah on Monday January 23, 2023 at 1:00 pm
