Celerino Peres Cervantes' Obituary
Celerino died on Saturday, June 15 at the age of 98. He was forn in Zitoacuaro, Michoacan, Mexico, on February 1, 1921, to Antonio Perez and Julia Cervantes. He had three sisters, Librada C Perez, born in 1929, Herminia C Perez born in 1928 and Luz C Perez born in 1933. His family was very poor. His father was a farmer and he helped in around the farm. His mother was a homemaker. He only completed to the 3rd grad in his schooling efforts, but he was a very hard worker and was very intelligent. He also had a very good memory. He always dreamed of having a family, but he never married or had children. He worked to Tony Mascaro of Heriman, Utah on his ranch in Rose Canyon. He lived out of a trailer home up on the mountain tending cattle most of the time. He did this for 34 years. While working on the ranch, he used to plant a garden, which he took pride in. The people he worked around on the ranch called him “Gilbert”. After he retired, he moved into West Jordan Senior Housing in 2005 where he spent his last days on Earth. He used to love to feed the birds and stray cats. He also liked to go to Wendover to go gamble where at times he got lucky! All who knew him loved him.
