Charlene Frances Lawrence
1932 – 2017
Charlene Francis Lawrence passed February 17, 2017. Charlene was born May 10, 1932 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Charles Turner and Mildred Coulam Francis.
She was raised and attended school in Morgan. Her family values and experiences there established the foundation she used in her life.
She married Don P. Lawrence on Aug 3, 1982 in the Ogden LDS Temple.
She received her Bachelors Degree from University of Utah and began her career of teaching for the next 25 years.
She served missions in Scotland, Louisiana, New Jersey, Jordan River Temple, and a mission at Church Archives.
Charlene loved nature and loved to spend time at the family ranch. She loved family history and sharing stories with her grandchildren.
She was active in the LDS church and served in many capacities.
She is survived by her three sisters, Lucille (Fred) Ulrich, JoAnne (Sam) Thackeray, Gloria Francis and many nieces and nephews. Her family, Don R. (Barbara), daughter-in-law Susanne, Stephen (Geraldine), Joseph R. (Jody), Kelly (Rita), Scott (Jana), Janette (Craig) Jensen and 161 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother. Her husband, Don P. Lawrence, son, Paul and daughter, Diane.
Charlene has a simple and beautiful faith and testimony of her Savior, Jesus Christ. We know there was a beautiful reunion with Don, her parents and other loved ones.
Thanks for embracing us as your family and sharing your life and love with us. We are left with beautiful memories of you and our wonderful ranch adventures.
Charlene was so very grateful for the tender, loving care of Kelly and Rita Lawrence these past three years. The family is also grateful for Marina and Lydia, her aids and her nurse Enna who became like family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 11 a.m in the Valley Park 2nd Ward Chapel at 5233 S. 3200 W. Taylorsville, Utah. Friends may call at the Ward Building from 6 to 8 p.m on Friday evening and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the LDS missionary fund.
Internment will be in the Taylorsville Cemetery at 4575 S. Redwood Road.
