Wipfler, Chip
President Boice was my first Stake President as a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In January of 1981, he set me apart as a full-time missionary. This he did on a weekday morning, so it was likely some inconvenience for him to go to his church office in Modesto to perform this ordinance. I was 21 years old & had less than 2 years in the Church. I do not recall the words he spoke during my setting apart, but I will never forget that , prior to placing his hands upon my head, he asked if my non-member father to join him in placing his hands on my head. It was one of the spirit-filled moments of my mortal life. I know that this memory I’m typing here is 3 years late, but I hope that whomever may read it may know that Charles Boice listened to the Spirit that weekday morning in his office, and he likely knew that I would need that sacred experience later in life. I definitely have, as I travel my earthly life for nearly 64 years today. I love President Boice. I am grateful that he acted to allow my father to assist that day. Rest in peace. Love, Chip Wipfler
