Charles Roy "Chuck" Ivester Sr's Obituary
Charles Roy “Chuck” Ivester Sr., 69, passed away August 12, 2023 due to health complications in Provo, Utah surrounded by family. Charles was born November 18, 1953, to Oscar Thomas “Tom” and Alda Vera Ivester. He was raised in Hanna and Sandy, Utah, he attended Brighton High School. He moved to various places in the Salt Lake Valley, eventually settling in Duchesne, Utah.
As a young man, Charles worked in the family business, Ivester’s Used Cars with his father and brother. Later, changing careers driving truck for various companies, retiring with Albertson’s Grocery in North Salt Lake City, where he drove truck and worked in shipping/receiving.
He married Sherryl Ann Morris July 28, 1972, in Sandy, Utah, later having two sons, Charles “Chuck” Jr. and Mathew “Matt”, divorced 1983. He married Jeanette Irene Ricci December 21, 1983, having one son, Christopher “Chris”, divorced 2001.
He loved teaching his sons how to ride dirt bikes, four wheelers, fish, deer hunt, and even took them to see his trusty horse, Ginger. He loved Ginger and remembered to tell their adventures to his sons and grandchildren.
He loved road bikes, dirt bikes, four wheeling, guns, boats, movies, music, trucks, and cars. Charles’s favorite movies consisted of Westerns, Hallmark, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Transformers. He favored country music, and also catered concert events. He loved making beef stew for deer hunting or anyone who came to visit at the Cabin. Charles also enjoyed taking out the vehicles from the car lot, his favorite story to tell was about the Chevrolet Corvettes. He could tell you the parts of all sorts of vehicles.
Charles learned coaching from his father and passed down that information to his sons and grandchildren. It may have been rough in the moment, but that information and those lessons became the most beloved to them. He was very proud of everyone with their accomplishments and their help in the latter part of his life.
Charles was preceded in death by his father: Oscar “Tom”, mother; Alda; nephew Nicholas “Bob” Ivester. He is survived by his sons, Charles “Chuck” Jr. (Milagro), Mathew “Matt” (Heidi), Christopher “Chris” (Jessica), brother, Thomas “Tom” (Susan), grandchildren; Josue (Aleisha), Dillion, Devin, Sheylyn (Camden), McKay, Steven, Bridgette, Noah, Revan, great-grandchildren; Hayden, Maycee, Whalyn, and many extended family members.
Charles made sure to tell his grandchildren about his adventurous life hundreds of times, so they can tell their children. Thank you for all the fun memories, Dad/Grandpa, you will forever be in our hearts!
