Charles Ray McFarland's Obituary
Charles Ray McFarland passed away peacefully at home, Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 8, 1927 in Ogden, Utah, to Abram and Luella Kingston McFarland. He married his childhood sweetheart, Verla Graves, January 22, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple.
He raised turkeys with his father, then eventually became a dairy farmer. He drove school bus for 48 years for Weber School District. He helped incorporate West Haven City, and served on the first city council. He was a member of the LDS Church, serving as a Stake Missionary, Scout Master, Bishop’s Counselor, Bishop, High Counselor, YM President, and a faithful Home Teacher.
He is survived by his sweetheart of 69 yrs, Verla, daughters, Sandra, Diane (Terry Adams), Ilene (Blaine Wade), sons, David, Richard (Jenifer), Larry (Nancy), Blair (Teacy).
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Thurs. March 31, 2016, at the Wilson Ward, 2333 S 2700 W, West Haven. A viewing will be held on Wed, Mar. 30, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm, at the Wilson Church, and again prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
