Charlotte Arlene Graham Salmon's Obituary
“Charlene” Charlotte Arlene (Graham) Salmon was born February 20, 1936 in Raymond, Alberta, Canada. She and her twin brother, Robert Dean Graham, were born to Robert Thomas Graham and Charlotte Annie Evans. Charlotte was the sixth child with five older sisters, Nona, Lavonne, Ruth, Marguerite, Florence, then Charlotte, Robert “Bobby”, Wyonna, Lynne, and Larraine. She grew up on the family farm east of Raymond, Alberta. She loved the horses and being outdoors. She helped with the chores around the farm and played basketball in high school.
She married the love of her life, Gary Holt Salmon, in June of 1955, in the Cardston Alberta Temple. Charlotte and Gary were the loving parents of four children, Terry Salmon, Charmayn Smith, Becky Hall, and Robert G. Salmon. They raised their family by working and playing together. Work ethics and service were always the center points. She loved the Lord and held many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Living in many places, they made friends wherever they went. She loved her family fiercely and was proud of all their accomplishments. Charlotte was an excellent cook and an even better baker. She was organized and loved to keep a clean and orderly house. Loving to dance, she and Gary joined a Square Dance Club making friends and had a ball. An excellent seamstress, Charlotte would make her and Gary matching Square Dance outfits. She also sewed most of her children’s clothing; they were always well dressed.
In the early 1980’s they moved to Missouri where they loved to go to the lake in the summer with their children and grandchildren. Charlotte loved the water and enjoyed waterskiing, swimming, and tubing with the family. Once they retired from ranching, Charlotte and Gary faithfully served a mission at the Seoul Korea Temple. Afterwards, they went to Yuma as snowbirds where she enjoyed golf, dancing and visiting with friends. The rest of the year they resided in Northern Utah close to family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and five of her siblings. She is survived by her four children, 21 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and four of her sisters. Charlotte will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
