Cherie Tolman Keeton's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Cherie Tolman-Keeton. Her last moments were spent at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Cherie was born on September 25, 1958 to Mariner Tolman and Genevieve Burton Tolman. She grew up in Bountiful, Utah with two older brothers – Brian and Robert. She married the love of her life, Rick Keeton, on November 6, 2006. Before having a stroke that left her disabled, she spent more than a decade working as the Office Manager at Dr. Terry Berner Eye Care in downtown Salt Lake City. She loved this work and it was there that she met and grew to know her husband, Rick. Cherie was a beautiful person inside and out. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will always be remembered as a strong, fun, and loving person. When Rick was asked to describe something wonderful about Cherie, he said there were so many great qualities about her, it was impossible to choose just one. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Keeton of West Valley City, Utah; daughters Sara Tikka, Rachelle Keeton and Erica Keeton of Missoula, Montana; son Patrick Keeton; brother Robert Tolman of West Valley City, Utah and family members Julia Tolman, Chad Tolman, Felicia Tolman, and BobiJoe Tolman – all of West Valley City, Utah.
We would like to give special thanks to the following sources of love and support:
Kathy Provence, sister-in-law
Janet Jenkins, sister-in-law
William Keeton, brother-in-law (who was waiting for Cherie in heaven when she got there)
Her home health nurse, Mary, who spent the last two years with Cherie
The doctors & team members at the University of Utah Hospital, who cared for Cherie for the past 12 years
