Cheryl Arrawanna Damron's Obituary
Cheryl Arrawanna Damron, born February 11, 1947, in Richfield, Utah, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, surrounded by her family. A longtime resident of Layton, Utah, Cheryl was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lived a life full of love, creativity, faith, and resilience.
Cheryl was born to Zane Hatch and Arrawanna Barney. After her parents divorced, Cheryl was lovingly adopted by her stepfather, Warren T. Caldwell. Cheryl faced cancer with remarkable courage and determination over several years, inspiring all who knew her with her strength and grace. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and cherished her membership in her local Ward in Layton, where she developed friendships and found joy in serving others.
Cheryl was known by many for her wit and her gift for making others laugh. She loved singing with friends, filling her life with music and cherished memories. In her early years, she was a talented licensed cosmetologist, admired for her creativity and dedication. She also enjoyed crocheting blankets, crafting treasured gifts that will continue to provide warmth and comfort to her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Christa Looney (Thomas) of Chugiak, Alaska, and Troy Tapp (Laurie) of Warrensburg, Missouri; her siblings, Zanaya Marriott, Brian Caldwell, and the late Denise Walker; her four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Cheryl's kindness, humor, creativity, and strength leave a lasting legacy for all who knew and loved her.
The family will hold a celebration of life in the spring of 2025, with the date to be determined. Family and friends will be contacted once plans are finalized.
