Cheryl Anne Dickey's Obituary
Our beloved mother, Cheryl Anne Dickey, age 75, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden. She was born December 29th, 1949 in Artesia, New Mexico to George Gordon Gore and Dorothy Nell Matthews. She was a 1968 graduate of Edmonds High in Sumpter, South Carolina. She attended Rick’s College in Rexburg, Idaho from 1968 to 1971 for Elementary Education. Cheryl served in the LDS Montana/Wyoming mission from 1971 to 1973. After her mission, she worked in Fayetteville, North Carolina and went to beauty school where she graduated first in her class. Later, when she moved to Logan, Utah, she started work at the High Rise Cafe and met her sweetheart Douglas Callis Dickey. They married in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple, June 29th, 1984. They created a beautiful family together and made countless memories moving from Logan, Utah to Tucson then Tempe Arizona, on to Portland, Oregon, then Holland, Michigan, and finally back to Brigham City. She believed her ultimate calling in life was to be a Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Cheryl is survived by all four of her children; Marilyn Balls (Andrew), Matthew Dickey (Aubrey), Benjamin Dickey, and Deborah Olsen (Ben), her 8 beautiful grandchildren, sisters Jeanette Pitcher (Claire) and Donna Ehrisman (Dale), her husband’s family, and many life long friends. Those whose lives Cheryl touched are invited to the celebrate her life with us at the Fishburn Drive LDS church on Friday, May 23rd 2025: Viewing will begin at 9 AM and the funeral services will begin at 11 AM. Graveside services at Brigham City Cemetery will immediately follow.
