Shug was a person that knew what she liked to do and did it. There was no second guessing with Shug, She always knew when the snow would be good. My fondest memories of her is going up James and skinning on a blue bird powder day to her “Shug Bowl”. She motored up that mountain like nobody’s business.
For all the years that I saw Shug, she always had a big smile on her face and gave this confidence and positive energy to everyone around her at Powder Mountain. It was contagious - she was a gift to the skiing community. I never got her phone number in so many years of knowing her because I always knew I would see her. There would always be another day, another season, another run. I regret not getting her phone number because this is a lesson to me in life that nothing is permanent. I was shocked and saddened to have lost such a person of character at Powder Mountain. She will always be remembered in my heart as a shining star. She was a mentor and a hero to me, and I cherish those happy memories.
Always find comfort in the great ski days we had ,
