Cheryl Ann Valerio's Obituary
Cheryl Ann Valerio, 67, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2026, in American Fork, Utah. Born on April 28, 1959, she was the youngest child of Arden Spencer and Colleen Beardall. Cheryl’s journey was one of love, faith, and devotion to her family and friends.
Cheryl was an individual of deep spirituality and unwavering faith. She cherished her relationship with her Father in Heaven and found immense joy in serving at the temple and fulfilling various church callings throughout her life. Her dedication to her faith was a source of inspiration to those who knew her.
Cheryl had a remarkable ability to connect with children with special needs. Her compassionate nature and innate knack for working with these children left an indelible mark on their lives. She also found great fulfillment in her work at the temple, where she combined her love for service with her spiritual devotion.
Cheryl’s vibrant personality shone through in every aspect of her life. She was known for being loving, kind-hearted, spontaneous, bubbly, and blessed with a wonderful sense of humor, often making up silly songs. Her hobbies reflected her zest for life; she adored plants, flowers, animals (especially horses), and spending time in nature. Cheryl also enjoyed drawing and coloring and could often be found doodling on napkins, notebooks, or anything she could find. One of her favorite pastimes was going on car rides to explore new places, and she was often spotted driving throughout Utah County. Listening to oldies music always put a smile on her face and a spring in her step. In her later years, her kids took her to Disneyland, where magic came alive for her inner child, and we made many fond family memories.
Family was at the heart of Cheryl’s life. She is survived by her brother Dean Spencer; her son JJ Valerio (Autumn); her daughter Nickie Valerio; and her beloved grandsons Jaxon and Weston. Cheryl’s love for her family was boundless, especially for her grandsons, who brought immense joy to her life and could make her smile when no one else could. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Spring Ann Valerio, as well as her parents, Arden Spencer and Colleen Beardall.
Her legacy is one of kindness and joy, a testament to a life lived fully and generously. Cheryl’s memory will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Stonehenge Skilled Nursing Facility for the love and care they have shown their mom in her final days.
Funeral services will be held on August 3, 2026, at 11:00 am at the LDS Church, 680 N 350 W (Bowery Building), American Fork, Utah. A viewing will be held before the funeral from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. Interment will be at American Fork Cemetery.
